Bach by Bike is taking a short trip to Brandenburg: in 1747, Johann Sebastian Bach travelled to Potsdam to visit Frederick The Great. On Bach´s footsteps in Brandenburg we cycle in two stages between Schuke- and Wagner-organs from Brandenburg an der Havel to Potsdam. In Potsdam we take part in the “Bicycle Concert” (Fahrradkonzert) of Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, where you will visit concerts of the Bach by Bike Ensemble on several points of the city.

ITINERARY
DAY 1: SELF ORGANIZED ARRIVAL AND BRANDENBURG A. D. HAVEL
We meet at 2 pm at the hotel in Brandenburg an der Havel. We start our stroll through the “Venice of Mark Brandenburg” from here. At the dome, organist Marcell Fladerer will guide us through the sounds of the famous Wagner-organ from 1722. It is one of the most significant baroque organs of Germany. We continue in the largest church of Brandenburg, St. Katharinen: we discover the secrets of the neobaroque organ, restored by Company Schuke Orgelbau in a guided tour.
DAY 2, BRANDENBURG A. D. HAVEN – POTSDAM, 59 KM
We cycle along the beautiful Havel cycling route through wide nature to Werder. Here we stop to visit the traditional organ-workshop of Company Schuke at Werder. We will get to know in detail how an organ is built. Afterwards we cycle along the waters of the Havel to a coffee break at hand weaving workshop Geltow. Refreshed we start off to the final stage to Potsdam.
DAY 3, CYCLING CONCERT MUSIKFESTSPIELE POTSDAM SANSSOUCI, 14 KM
Today we take part in Cycling Concert Route 3 of Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci.
“Cycling Concert: Experience Potsdam through the eyes of friendship”. Route 3 – Praise the Music. Nothing in today´s Potsdam is reminding us of the visit of Johann Sebastian Bach´s at Frederick II in the year of 1747, origin of the score of the “Musical Offering” – is it? Along Bach´s traces this route will guide you to the venues of the time of his stay – and to romantic spots, where this chapter of Potsdam´s music history continues by rediscovery of Mendelssohn and Zelter. Passionate Bach-friends and original geniuses on their instruments, such as BACH by BIKE Ensemble, awarded with the OPUS Klassik 2022, accompany the tour. The tour is connecting via the platform »BACH – We Are FAMILY! « internationally. But not only Bach fans will love this tour!
DAY 4, DEPARTURE
After breakfast everyone will embark on their individual journey home. We wish all guests a safe journey home!

The minimum number of participants for our tours is 15. If the minimum number is not reached, we reserve the right to withdraw from the tour contract. The corresponding declaration must be sent to you at least 29 days before the scheduled beginning of the tour.
The average group size is approximately 15 to 25 people.
